In November, I was given the profound opportunity to travel to Kyoto, Japan to take a private Hana-Isho Ikebana class with Master Kimiko Yamamoto. Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arrangement. Most Ikebana style arrangements are created from materials in your garden. Items that you find while walking in the woods and ultimately through “being one” with nature. This experience reminded me of the beauty of simplicity.
Ikebana taught me that the “fast pace” life style is not always the best thing….take a moment each day to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings.
